Friday the 15th of April 2022 was a very historic day in The City of Bradford as Bradford for Better Organization, Bradford Foundation Trust and The City of Culture 2025 team organized FASTING FRIDAY.
Fasting Friday was aimed at connecting cultures through faith. It brought hundreds of Muslims and Christians together to not only celebrate in harmony, but also to break the fast of Ramadan and Lent.
Hundreds and hundreds of Bradfordians gathered at historic City Park at the City Centre on a memorable evening which showcased the rich culture, diversity and the unassuming depth of a very special vicinity, bidding for The City of Culture in 2025.
Very many high profile dignitaries attended the event including The Vice Chancellor of The University of Bradford- Shirley Congdon, Professor Uduak Archibong, The Director of the Centre of Inclusion and Diversity at The University of Bradford, Members of Parliament in Bradford, Religious Leaders from various faith, community leaders, community groups and people from diverse background.
Dr Sohail Ahmed who is The Chair of Bradford for Better organization and one of the Co- organizers for Fasting Friday believes that there is so much to come with regards to bridging communities in the Bradford vicinity.
