“WHAT DOES “HAPPY NEW YEAR” MEAN TO YOU – WRITTEN BY TONY TOKUNBO ETEKA FERNANDEZ

Every year is a new season , dressed with opportunities , challenges , hope , cross-roads, puzzles and unpredictable facets of raw revelations .

I stopped making new resolutions over 5 years ago and started to embrace the signals of the present moment.

Every day is filled with open secrets and living manifestations and a lot of the time, the answers lie within.

For there are times we need to follow our heart and listen to the raw drumbeats that align with the realities of our calling .

What we want might not always be good fot us .

What we need might be endlessly staring us in the face , but we simply just do not always see it .

Every year is filled with answers, but yet the monotonous routine of the rat race has created an uncomfortable comfort zone that distracts us from the bigger picture of our calling.

We yearn for a big picture filled with uncomfortable possibilities

For a picture filled with the freedom of raw music

And a picture that resonates with who we truly are and what we truly stand for..

Sometimes it takes the best of quiet moments to embrace, reflect and question who we really are and what are our values .

There are far too many people following the crowd.

In the month of November and December every year , I take time out to be less busy and reflect in a pool of silence from the comfort of my priceless bedroom

And then something magical starts to unfold,

Ideas start to flow from nowhere , or probably from somewhere that was already in the background .

These are also the two months that i use to reflect, plan and strategize for the year ahead.

And in these quiet moments , away from all the distractions of lifes physical and digital traffic – Life starts to make more sense .

More whispers start to unfold from the wind .

More secrets start to reveal itself, making room for the grace and the wisdom of clarity .

Here is a question for you ?

When last did you detach yourself from the routine of the rat race and retreat into the depths of a two day therapy of reflection ?

When last did you take a two day retreat vacation to a completely unfamiliar peaceful territory ?

What did you discover about yourself in the process ?

What new realisations unfolded that were probably always in the background ?

Sonetimes in life we are so busy trying to get in to Coach A and nearly everyone feels it is the right coach we should be in .

The chances are Coach D might be half empty , but if we observe closer , there are lots of hidden potential and treasures in Coach D.

I am wishing you all the very best in the year ahead as you aspire to be the best version of yourself
