Ugomma Uzokwelu was born in Sweden and moved with her parents and siblings to Reading 8 years ago.

She is 9 years old and a pupil at Loddon Primary School Earley Wokingham Borough District. She is currently in Year 5.

Ugomma is a very good student and exceptionally good in everything she does. She believes that anything worth doing at all should be done very well.

She is very much into sports and a member of the school football team. This year she was very influential in getting her school football team emerge the champions in Wokingham Borough Council.

She also plays football every Saturday at Prospect football academy.

Apart from football, Ugomma is very good in Gymnastics and can summersault and do others forms of complex acrobatic displays with ease.

ADAEZE UZOKEWELU

Adaeze Tess Uzokwelu was born in Sweden and moved with her parents and siblings to Reading 8 years ago.

She is 10 years old and a pupil at Loddon Primary School Earley Wokingham Borough District. She is currently in Year 6 and getting ready for an admission into secondary school.

Adaeze has won several awards at her school for her writing skills. She is an avid reader of books and has read virtually all of the books in her school Library. For her, a day gone without reading a book is a day not well spent.

She also writes short stories and poems.

She believes that the world should be made a better place for children so that they can make their own contribution to humanity. Like she says, a world without children would be very boring and is  better left unimagined.

Adaeze is very proud of her very cute voice and is a member of her school choir. She has participated in several singing competitions and believes her good voice would one day win the XFACTOR competition anytime she makes up her mind to compete.

MY SATIRICAL POEM AIRED ON BBC RADIO TO MARK THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE RACE ELECTION ACT

This year marks The 50th celebration of the Race relations act.
The act was drafted in direct response to the hostility and discrimination shown to Black and asian immigrants who were faced with all kinds of prejudices with regards to work, housing and equal opportunities.
The successful boycott of a bus company in Bristol led to the emergence of The Race relations act in 1965 which then became a turning point for change.
The Activist, Paul Stephenson played a very major role at the time.
This week, I was approached by BBC RADIO to compose a poem to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Race relations act.

HEY

My new satire called “SECRETS IN THE WIND” was read on BBC RADIO BERKSHIRE this morning

HAPPY READING

THE SECRETS IN THE WIND (A SOCIAL SATIRE)

Tonight we celebrate the sequel of a tense thriller,
SAME STORY
SAME SOUNDTRACK
NEW FILMSTARS
And the secrets of a new agenda are gently printed in the wind,
Sometimes to small for the eyes to see

Tonight we celebrate,
A tragic collection of broken promises,
1000 stories of untold gunshots,
The cold drama from an elusive script, governed by invisible laws

Tonight we celebrate,
5 decades of “uncommon wealth”
The tragedy and comedy of double and single standards
A warm evening in Bristol
A journey into the palace of truth
The vision of Paul Stephensons

Or a chance for you and I to dance to polluted jazz from polite strangers
Or to revive the passion from the talking drum

MY INTERVIEW WITH MP ALOK SHARMA, THE MP FOR READING WEST AND THE SPONSOR FOR THE BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATIONS THAT I ORGANISE AT THE UK HOUSE OF PARLIAMENT (I ALSO PRESENTED MP SHAMRA WITH AN AWARD ON THE DAY)

On Friday the 10th of April , I interviewed Alok Sharma in his Reading Office for the 2ndtime.

Mr Simba of SMP also offered support on the day and filmed the interview.

Alok went into detail to and spoke about some of the campaigns he intended to implement if he was re-elected.  He also spoke about his tenure in the last 5 years, which is undoubtfully a testimony of success especially for the local residents of Reading who will be more than eager to vote Alok Sharma for a second term

I presented Alok Sharma with A Special Outstanding Achievement award on behalf of my brand for the interest and support he had offered African Communities in Reading in the last 5 years.

sharma

The first time I ever heard him speak was also a moment I will never forget, he was addressing a group of African Entrepreneurs and he reminded them, that part of his role as MP for Reading  West was to support and nurture community ideas and initiatives, he also went on to say that if anyone had any ideas to discuss with him, they should not think twice about approaching it.

After that speech, I walked up to him in Parliament as he was about to leave the room, our initial conversation was the start of great partnership .

MP Alok Sharma was the first MP I ever got to interview on The International  Radio Talk  Show I produced, My Sister and Husband were visiting from  The States at the time and also met him at our Studio in Reading,

I will never forget her first words when she met him “He is such a gentleman, He speaks with passion, You can tell that he really cares about local people”

In 2013 , for the very first time, I organised The Black History Month Celebrations at The UK House of Parliament. A platform was created for 10 African Achievers, Entrepreneurs to speak on the day and four performing artists.

Among the Special Guests on the day was MP Helen Grant- The Minister for Justice and Women Equalities

In 2014, I was also given the go ahead to organise The Black History Month Celebrations at The UK House of Parliament again,   A platform was created for 8 African Achievers, Entrepreneurs to speak on the day and two  performing artists.

The Special guest on the day was Mr Kola Karim-  CEO of Shoreline Oil Nigeria- who flew in from Nigeria specifically for the event.

Both Black History Month Celebrations I organised  at The UK House of Parliament were sponsored by MP Alok Sharma.

In 2015, I also organised THE AFRICA4U ONLINE AWARDS FOR AFRICANS IN EUROPE

I WAS RADIO PRESENTER & RADIO PRODUCER FOR AFRICA4U INTERNATIONAL TALK SHOW AT READING4U COMMUNITY RADIO STATION IN BERKSHIRE UK FROM MAY 2011 UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2013

Tony Tokunbo Eteka  Fernandez has producing and presenting radio shows for new audiences worldwide. He has a degree in English and a lot of experience in event organising, youth empowerment, community cohesion and inspirational talks . He is also a Published Writer, Mentor and Public speaker and has written and published three books.

Tony has always had an interest in Radio. He has appeared as a guest on BBC Radio on many occasions including being a guest on The Anne Diamond Show

Other Radio shows he has appeared on include Smooth FM Lagos with Radio Host- Derrick Kirk Anthony, Top FM Lagos with Ras Rah,   African Heritage Radio in Germany, WBOG Jazz, New Jersey, USA and Radio stations in many other countries

In a previous  trip to Lagos Nigeria, Tony organised pre-recorded interview sessions with 23 Nigerian Artists/Role Models, some of the artists included Jesse Jagz of Chocolate City, Ade Bantu, DJ Gosporella, Psalm Ebube and Infinity Gospel Group

Tony has also interviewed Black Role Models and celebrities, and well over 130 guests in recent years

He has also appeared on a guest on SKY TV Channels on several occasions

In recent years, Tony  has been The Radio Presenter and Producer for AFRICA4U RADIO INTERNATIONAL TALK SHOW- The Radio Show for Africans around the World and interviewed over 130 Guests in less than two years. The Show attracted listeners in 9 Countries- The UK, Spain, Germany, The States, Canada, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya and Holland. The Show attracted various communities around the world from grass root level and it became mandatory for me to initiate and create more platforms for people who did not have a platform to express their voice, hence 75 percent of the music I aired on my show was from upcoming African artists- some of whom i now mentor and manage.
