“THE LEKKI TOLL GATE MASSACRE” WRITTEN BY TONY TOKUNBO FERNANDEZ

We shall never forget,

The trauma of a haunting night,

stained with green blood,

young voices overshadowed by the ambush of old secrets

We shall never forget the march with golden voices,

And the flag that painted the energy of each day

With the colors of a civil language

We shall never forget,

The pain …

The tears …

The loyalty …

And the message – printed in the wind for the world to see.

In your spirits,

A new dream has given birth,

to the golden moments of liberation.

We shall never forget,

to feed more souls with the fruits of new songs

Tony Tokunbo Fernandez

“THE LEKKI MASSACRE” WRITTEN BY OKEME JEROME

THE LEKKI MASSACRE

Headline – LCC lost millions in a week.

Peaceful angry youths built a fence of themselves

Between the Mainland and the Island.

The toll gate was their camp ground.

And they stood their ground in unity

With one voice…”#EndSars.

Advice came

“Get yourselves flags, the symbol of patriotism

Every man to his flag

Flutter it in the air

And let the air suffocate in the sound of the National Anthem you will chant.

No one will harm you.”

20/10/2020

Curfew announced at noon to start 6pm same day

CCTV cameras were invited in camera

As evening crept in

They depended on the lights for vision

But the lights went out

And darkness was upon the face of the toll gate

The countenance of the gate was hidden.

While they waited, ‘They’ came .

Force men in uniform

Sent by “forces beyond control”

They opened fire that set the Nation on fire.

The Media houses were in their houses but the Social media

The youths fluttered in the air their green white green flags

And chorused the National Anthem but that didn’t stop ‘them’.

Heroes fell but their voices kept rising

The symbol of patriotism was painted with the blood of citizens.

It was a long night

History will not forget 20/10/2020.

A POEM IN SUPPORT TO ENDSARS -WRITTEN BY CLARA MEIERDIERKS BASED IN GERMANY

# Join this peaceful procession#

# stand in God to end humanly Pains in Nigeria,

# Say no to all SARS of Any Kind#

In Afrika, and in the whole world#

Together we are stronger,

Wherein do we deserve to live in this Pain ?‘

Our hopes sunk and silenced For years,

To be the Same every year,

And live hopeless,

I Mourn For our Loved ones,

Slain in the course of raising their voices,

to injustice that is Norm in our midst,

I Dare not lower My voice ,

Lest we Go unoticed,,

You think you screw courage,

In your act? , of use of daggers,

To paint the streets with mark of

Innocent blood marching for a birth right ?

men of Underworld,

We shall make our grieves known

We are not settled,

Until false faces Hide,

The moon is down,

And will rise with the help of God,

Yet I would not sleep,

I would not stop praying,

I will not restrain My thoughts,

To ask!

Why?

What is our charge,

And who did we wrong to warrant us this agony ?

God have mercy!

# Mach mit #

# friedlichen Prozession #

# in Gott Kommt unsere Kräfte #

In deiner Tat? ,

Warum?

Was ist unsere Preise!

Und was haben wir falsch gemacht,

um uns das zu rechtfertigen?

Gott hab Erbarmen!

“WE WILL NOT FORGET” BY HON COLLIN NWEKE BASED IN BELGIUM

That Nigerian youths could be met with brut force by the armed forces and shot to death ☠️ for a civil protest is unimaginable but true. The world will surely not forget this day. I cry for what Nigeria 🇳🇬 has become that the blood 🩸 of these youngsters may not be spilt for nothing. Rest In Peace to the old Nigeria that died with these young protesters. We can not welcome a new Nigeria because it still has to emerge. I shed tears😭 of blood for Nigeria 🇳🇬 whose flag has been stained with the blood of her children. Forever!!!🩸🩸🩸🩸
