Surrender
The days are past when I was dour
When things were sweet and sometimes sour
When I had a dozen million or just four
Now be I rich or be I poor
My heart remains an open door
On hinges of compromise I flutter
With each push I yield and not clutter
On your whim I choose to die or live
All I have and am I give
I pour my last drop into your overflowing hive
That you may be to me
What to you I couldn’t be
I lock up my free will and hand you the key
To this temple you have become a Bey
Let the snap of your fingers be
my morning cue
Let the nod of your head decide my daily due
Do not weep for me for I feel no rue
That I have no mind of my own I do not care a sou
My sole purpose is to live only for you
Into your hand I my soul render
From now till eternity in unconditional surrender
