TRUE AFRICAN WOMEN DAY, SATURDAY THE 5TH OF MARCH-AN EVENT YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO MISS

TRUE AFRICAN WOMEN DAY ENHANCED WITH A VISION TO FEED THE SOULS OF MANY NATIONS THE CRADLE THAT ROCKS THE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC OF LIFE EACH SUBSTANCE OF STRENGTH, DRESSED IN GENTLE GRACE ..… TO EMPOWER, TO LEAD, TO LOVE

It’s that time of year again when the focus falls on the sector of society that holds us all together – our women. We pay homage to the women we are surrounded by in our daily lives and we also use this opportunity to take stock of our progress.

It is also very important to bear in mind the challenges that Women in Africa continue to face in the workplace where most still earn far less than men, in the offices where women are still overlooked for important promotions, in the home where women are sexually abused and in villages where young girls are forced into marriage. These are the realities still facing many women. As we celebrate this day, let us not forget the significance behind this day. The selfless acts of many African women have taken their rightful place in parliament, government, the private sector and civil society.

There is a lot stills needs to be done. However, by coming together on True African Women’s Day, we already show solidarity with many of our women who still continue to face different daily struggles. We should take time to reflect on what still needs to be achieved and remember that our countries, and indeed the great Africa, will only advance when women are fully incorporated into all spheres of society, the development of the country and all decision-making processes.

Our Organization is a non-governmental organization founded by African woman Rukayat Basaru and True African Women from Caribbean, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Ghana, Eritrea, Sudan, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Congo, Malawi,Cameroon Egypt and other African countries. TAWD work with other non-governmental organizations as well as government agencies and offices involved with the welfare of women and immigrants. TAWD also helps communities achieve empowerment by increasing literacy for women and children, improving health status, and eradicating poverty and many more. Membership is open to anyone; we invite you to be part of our efforts to make a difference. Contact: trueafricanheritage@gmail.com
