Over the years , I have had the opportunity to visit over 40 of the 51 official cities in England. I am always overwhelmed by the depth and beauty of each city as well as the lists of things to do.
It is always a refreshing to know that there is so much to do and to see within our doorstep
Early this year I visited Carlisle in Cumbria and I will be sharing with you 5 GOOD REASONS TO VISIT CARLISLE
Carlisle is the home of the 2nd smallest Cathedral in England after Oxford. The gothic architecture in this building dates back to the 13th and 14th Century. This was also one of the most beautiful cathedrals I had ever visited in England. I was offered a free tour and took lots of pictures.
Carlisle is also the home of some of the largest roman artifacts in the world. If you love artifacts, you will love Carlisle
Carlisle is also the home of the beautiful Carlisle Castle which has so much history but has gone through lots of changes over the years.
Carlisle is also the home of the Hadrians wall named after Emperor Hadrain.
Carlisle is not only the only City in Cumbria, It is also blessed with lovely sceneries, history and architecture .

I’m pleased to share this here. I won the Silver Award for the Tony Tokunbo Eteka Fernandez International Online Poetry Competition 2022.
When I entered the contest, I didn’t expect to win. But I did and it counts for something. I’ve noticed that I often second-guess myself, especially when applying for an opportunity (#internships, fellowships, jobs, #writing contests). I have the let’s-see-how-it-goes mentality, which may not always be healthy. It makes you feel like there’s not much you can achieve and you end up settling for mediocre.
Henceforth, I have decided to not be afraid to take a chance on myself, to be confident about my skills, to excel. Here’s to excellence🥳.

Along the way
The journey may seem unclear It is with your own eyes That you must see
The journey may seem far It is with your hands That you must part a way
The journey may seem cold It is with your warmth That they must feel
The journey may seem unlit It is with your light That you must share
The journey may seem heartless It is with your eternal That you are deathless
The journey may seem silent It is with your words That you are heard
The journey may seem dark It is your self That you must find
The journey may seem soundless It is your echo That will live to tell
The journey may seem everlasting It is your only chance This is the way
