NIDOE MEDIA STRATERGY

Introducing NIDOE to the Media NIDO Europe’s members are Nigerians resident in Europe from a variety of professional backgrounds with years of experience in their various fields. Outstanding Nigerians who by conventional definition are neither professionals nor academics are welcome as members if they’re able and capable of contributing to national development in their respective endeavours.

NIDO Europe is made up of 20 Regional Chapters which are governed by Chapter Executives headed by a Chapter Chairperson. NIDO chapters as of December 2016 are: Austria, Belgium-Luxemburg, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherland, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom (two chapters), Ukraine and Portugal. The 20 Chapters are governed by an umbrella body, the 11-member NIDO Europe Executive Committee (CEC) headed by the Chairman. The CEC and the Chapter Chairs constitute the Board of Trustees (BOT).

NIDO Europe Media Summit 2016 The immediate objective of the NIDOE 2016-2018 Executive Term is a holistic repositioning of NIDOE to make it operationally a self-reliant body, meeting the needs of its members from its own resources. Secondly, to make the organisation become project-driven and possessing the ability to promote national development by highlighting the trade & investment opportunities in Nigeria and providing a professional resource pool from where national developmental interests could be catered to.

To achieve the above objectives, the BOT is embarking on a media campaign to create a greater awareness of NIDOE among prospective members in Europe, the political, diplomatic and business circles in our countries of residence and in Nigeria. This Media Summit will bring experts together to explore ways to achieve the objectives of the Media Campaign The Summit should lay the foundation for a sustainable NIDOE-Media Relationship and produce strategies for the realisation of the NIDOE Social Economic Development Program 2016-2018.

The event will also establish a framework for a NIDOE “Media and Strategic Team” that will be responsible for presenting NIDOE position in the media on important national issues on a regular basis.

POETRY CORNER , “SWEET CONVERSATIONS” BY THOBEKILE SIBANDA FROM ZIMBABWE

sweet conversations
the sweet conversations of my heart and yours connect us so deeply,
the mouth can not confess
nor the mind comprehend
it is like the joy of holding your hand,
light kiss on your shoulder as we
like a bolder tearing down all opposition and obstacles
growing older and stronger the bond connects

the sweet conversations of my heart and yours can not be told
for it is in a language without translation
writing without format
yet our hearts understand
and our eyes flow with tears of joy, peace and happiness
at this very moment I swear time is still
the spotlight is on
yet our eyes are glued to each other
neither one wanting to look away
it is at that very moment that we dance without movement, sing a song without words and laugh without a sound

the sweet conversations of our heart strip away my fear and clothe me with elegant love
it carves my body with the finger of admiration
it lays sweet kisses of admiration on my lips
it makes me hold on for dear life
for am surely out of breath
in its world I am lost, I dont want to be found

I want to be forever bound in our conversations and I can not wait for the next conversation
for with deep satisfection I am left in the memory of our hearts ever sweet conversations
