New Book Release: “Sound Mind” by Tope Dada – Discover the Healing Power of Music

In a world battling anxiety, depression, and emotional exhaustion, one universal language continues to offer hope—music. I’m excited to finally share something deeply personal and powerful with you—my new book, “Sound Mind: How Music Shapes Mental Health and Emotional Well-being.”

This book is more than just a collection of thoughts. It’s a testimony. A guide. A healing companion. It’s the story of how I discovered the calming, renewing, and transformative power of music—not just as an artist, but as a human being navigating emotional valleys and spiritual highs.

💡 What Inspired This Book?

There was a season of my life marked by rejection, waiting, and pain. In that waiting room of destiny, I found music—and music found me. From playing instruments in church to writing songs like The Storm Is Over and I Am Blessed, music became more than expression. It became therapy.

Years later, after studying Psychology and earning a Master’s in Peace, Conflict, and Development, I realized something powerful: there’s a divine science behind the sound. Music doesn’t just move us—it heals us.

📖 What You’ll Discover in “Sound Mind”

The science and spirituality of music’s effect on the brain

How music can help with stress, anxiety, and depression

Real-life testimonies and reflections from my journey

Practical ways to use music for emotional self-care

How music and sound shape our inner world and mental well-being

Whether you’re an individual, a music lover, a mental health advocate, or someone going through a hard season, this book is for you.

Where to Get It

👉 Sound Mind is available now on Amazon in paperback and Kindle formats.

Bradford based Daniel Okezue: Where Creativity Meets Calling

Daniel Okezue: Where Creativity Meets Calling

A Review of a Prolific Creative Voice

In a world where artists often choose one lane, Daniel Okezue has spent his creative life building bridges, between forms, between cultures, and between people.

With roots in Nigeria and a thriving artistic presence in the UK, Daniel is a multi-hyphenate creative force whose work spans theatre, poetry, photography, stand-up comedy, and screen performance. He doesn’t just create art, he curates experiences, tells hard truths, and crafts spaces where other voices can rise.

At the heart of Daniel’s creative expression is performance, poetic, passionate, and powerfully human. Whether delivering stirring spoken word pieces like “Let Him Be Human” (a men’s mental health anthem) or “Breathe” (a poetic love letter to Bradford for its 2025 City of Culture journey), his performances are raw yet refined, grounded yet galvanizing.

His event “Testing the Mic” is a testament to his ability to host and elevate, offering an inclusive, electric space where diverse communities come together to laugh, listen, and live art out loud.

A natural host and humorist, Daniel’s comedy lands where culture and commentary meet. His wit is sharp, often drawing on diasporic experiences, intergenerational dynamics, and subtle cultural ironies. His shows are as much about laughter as they are about reflection.

He brings this same magnetic energy to The Wedding Soirée, a high-energy celebration that blends tradition with modern elegance, and his role as host and organiser ensures every detail, and every guest, feels unforgettable.

In his mission to bring art out of venues and into the lives of people, Daniel in collaboration with DJ Remmy launched “Afrobeat Party on the Street” a vibrant, high-energy cultural event that transforms city streets into living dance floors and celebration zones.

More than just music and movement, the Afrobeat Party is a declaration of joy, identity, and shared rhythm. Featuring music, dancers, and open mic spots, it’s a street-level celebration of African excellence, open to all, grounded in community.

This initiative has become a crowd favourite and will play a key role in Bradford’s public-facing cultural programming.

Daniel’s roots in theatre are deep, with multiple acclaimed stage performances that have cemented his presence in the Nigerian and UK performing arts scene. His credits include: The Blue Blood, Just Because, The Confab etc all directed by Nwando Alayande, Butterflies 1-3 (2021-2023, Lagos) directed by Dimeji Ladipo and Scrilla (2024, Bradford) written and directed by Shirmaley Fontaine. Each role Daniel takes on is met with emotional depth, humour and magnetic presence, he doesn’t just perform a character, he inhabits it.

Beyond the stage, Daniel’s artistry extends to the lens. Through art photography, he captures not just images but identities, framing stories, and joy in ways that reclaim beauty and visibility.

His work isn’t content with aesthetics alone, it’s intentional. It’s storytelling in pixels and posture.

Daniel has also appeared on screen, with short movie roles and TV moments, including features on Africa Magic, where his presence brought emotional range and character depth. He continues to explore film as a space to bring poetry, advocacy, and character together, and fans can expect more screen performances in his future slate.

Daniel doesn’t just create art, he nurtures it in others. As the founder of The Prolific Creative Hub, he leads a space that empowers emerging artists across disciplines, offering workshops, collaborative projects, and performance opportunities.

The Hub is a living example of Daniel’s belief that creativity is community work, and culture must be cultivated with care.

Daniel is at the forefront of some of the UK’s most exciting cultural moments. He’s set to perform at the Bradford African Festival of Arts (BAFA), a celebration of African culture, artistry, and heritage right in the heart of Yorkshire.

As Bradford steps into its spotlight as the 2025 UK City of Culture, Daniel is one of the voices to watch, not just performing, but shaping what the future of inclusive, impactful performance looks like.

From city-wide festivals to intimate theatre halls, Daniel is determined to tell stories that matter, to speak for the unheard, celebrate the overlooked, and remind us all of the power of art that connects.

Daniel Okezue is not simply an artist, he is a movement.
A storyteller.
A cultural bridge.
A builder of platforms.

Daniel sees performance not just as art, but as a tool for transformation. Whether working with young people, advocating through verse, or hosting vibrant cultural events, his goal remains clear: to use words to build a better, more connected world.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO MY FATHER -CHIEF FERNANDEZ AND ALL FATHERS AROUND THE WORLD

Today we celebrate the mantle that has fed the colours of many homes,

With new legacies unfolding and embracing the warmth of each day.

Today we reflect upon the birth of many unspoken seasons,

and the lessons that have encouraged new sons, daughters and leaders.

For there are many hands behind the cradle .

There are several stories beneath the surface .

Happy Father’s Day Dad

Lots of love

Tony
