Richard Duke brings a unique perspective, combining 24 years of extensive HR leadership experience across the Oil & Gas, Higher Education, and Healthcare sectors in the UK, UAE, Qatar, and Oman, with a passion for social justice. He is finalising his doctorate at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, as a James McCune Smith Scholar. His research delves into the innovative “leaderless organising” model of Black Lives Matter UK. Employing ethnographic methods, Richard gains firsthand understanding of the movement, using Critical Race Theory to analyse its effectiveness. Richard actively contributes to public discourse, exemplified by his well-received presentation on African Migration History at the UK House of Parliament during Black History Month
