BME, Black and Minority Ethnic, is a term used in the UK to describe people of non-white descent. This forum aims to provide support and advice relating to issues affecting ethnic minority communities in the United Kingdom, particularly in Middlesbrough. With focus to increase representation for our local BME communities members. We hope to build lasting and strong relationships in our communities and impact on the diverse communities of our local area. Through the forum we hopes to develop collaborative approaches to improve positive communication and engagement between the local authority and BME communities.
