ROLE MODEL OF THE WEEK, TIMOTHY ARCHIBONG ESU, CEO OF GOLDMINE CRECHE & SCHOOLS

A BIO ON TIMOTHY ARCHIBONG ESU

Timothy Archibong Esu, a husband, father of five (two biological and three non biological), teacher, social crusader, community and youth and community leader, a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, without sounding immodest, is a lot more than any single individual can describe.

This fact stems from his birth into the families of the late Obong Daniel Asibong Ekpe Esu, a retired Commissioner of Police (Operations) of Ikot Esu, Creek Town, Odukpani LGA and the late Giftie Daniel Esu (nee Duke) of Ikot Edem Odo, Akpabuyo LGA both of Cross River State, Nigeria on 5 th April, 1976.

An avid believer in education of the mindset for personal and societal development, Timothy, in spite of certain setbacks such as being completely orphaned at a time when advanced education was on his mind, was educated at infancy in Ironbar Memorial Primary School (1983-1988); Duke Town Secondary School (1989-1991); Hope Waddell Training Institution (1991-1995); University of Calabar (1996-1999 forDiploma in Religion and Philosophy and 2009-2013 for LLB Law and Legal Studies) – all in Calabar, Cross River State; Loveworld Ministerial College, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria (Certificate in Ministerial Arts) – and in a number of other professional, management, technical, artisanal inclinations.

While in basic school, Timothy has been an athlete with laurels in marathon, high and long jump; Commandant, Man O’ War Bay, Hope Waddell Training Institution; Vice President, Press Club, Hope Waddell Training Institution; accomplished bass singer, Glorious Voices of Hope Waddell Training Institution (a role extended to his Family Church, The Presbyterian Church, Duke Town Cathedral – 1996-2003).

Timothy has garnered work experiences beginning in 1995 as an auxiliary teacher (later, full classroom teacher) with the Family Support Programme Schools, Parliamentary Village Road; Amazing Grace Foundation Schools, Ikot Ansa.

Timothy has supported as a Consultant at no cost the establishment of Redsand Schools, Jebs Road; Nta Memorial Schools, Parliamentary Extension for upcoming entrepreneurs among other side visit trainings for schools in Calabar Metropolis.

Timothy is an Advanced National Training Officer of the Boys’ Brigade, Nigeria (having won laurels such as the Drill Instructor of the year 1999-2005); State Patron of the Girls’ Brigade, Nigeria, Cross River State Council (having helped resuscitate the Organisation in 1996 and was instrumental to organising it for commissioning as a Division in 2002); Resource Person, Hope Waddell Society of Music; Chairman, Action Committee, Hope Waddell Old Students’ Choir; President Emeritus, The Debonnaire Family Gospel Singers (an acapella Gospel singing group) – from inception in 1995 to2003; Chairman, Corporate Governance Committee, Esuk Ofuo Youths Development Council, Anantigha (a youths and community based organization) – having led the team to register the Association as a recognized group in Cross River State.

Currently, Timothy has settled down to the role of an entrepreneur having set up an educational facility with the name Goldmine Crèche and Schools in Calabar, Cross River State in 2014 to offer quality education to spark off creative inclinations in children while at the same time looking out for other opportunities to strategically fully express his vision in the field of early child care and educational services.

Getting to do personal business gives Timothy the allowance of functioning as not only a Pastor in the Messiah Deliverance and Salvation Ministries where he also serves the General Secretary, Ministerial Class Instructor, Proposed Captain of the Boys’ Brigade, Nigeria, 7 th Calabar Company, it gives him the sense of responsibility of handling personal and family affairs in addition to those of the Community where he serves selflessly.

His ideas has created initiatives that has led to community developments and youth empowerment programmes around Esuk Ofuo of Anantigha Clan in Calabar South LGA of Cross River State, Nigeria.

Timothy believes there is no ending to learning, one of the reasons he has devoted himself to online and real time learning opportunities. He is also unrelenting in his efforts to see that his communities (origin, operational and residential) are not lagging behind in any developmental aspects one of the reasons of his being on the lookout for beneficial programmes to keep relevant persons connected to opportunities.

He is also a member of the Efik Leadership Forum to promote the values of the upcoming generation of the Efik Nation.
