Son of the soil, Nigerian born Larry ‘The Natural’ Ekundayo who is the undefeated African Boxing Union champion, International Masters welterweight title holder and the 2012 Prizefighter champion, will once again carry the hopes of Nigeria on his shoulders in a title defence that is set to be an explosive African showdown. Tanzanian Champion Mundi brings an impressive ring record of 14 wins and only 2 losses, meaning both athletes will be looking to get the best of one another on the night. This night of sporting excellence will be attended by Nigerian celebrities from the worlds of music and film who are great supporters of Ekundayo.

As well as this bout promising to be an exciting and thrilling display of African pugilistic talent. This will also be a night of historic magnitude, as it will the first time an African title defence has headlined at the home of British boxing, the York Hall, London.

I feel deeply humbled and honoured to be a recipient of THE AFRICAN DIASPORA LIVING LEGEND AWARD FOR DIASPORA ENGAGEMENT at The recently organised AFRICAN DIASPORA LIVING LEGEND DAY, that took place in HAMBURG, GERMANY, very recently.

Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to Germany this year for the event but I will like to say a big thank you The CEO of African Heritage TV , African Heritage Radio and Representative of African community in the Hamburg Senate – Hon Kenneth Gbandi and his great team for honouring me with this Award.

The Eco-Tourism Society is an organization working towards making more sustainable developments in the Gambia, and to enhance the well-being of our local indigenous people.

We have many projects underway, such as the permaculture house (organic and community growing of food) which we have secured a fantastic location to use as the permaculture resource center.

We will be using this area to develop our permaculture skills so we can boost food security.

We will also be using this resource center to host events, such as live music, with our hardworking entertainments team who are developing, and promoting music and dance both nationally and international. We’re looking for people to come to the Gambia and want to bring the level of talent we have here to an international level. 

The Permaculture Resource Center is just one of the many projects we have underway. We are currently developing an off-grid living holiday to target people interested in off grid tourism, or people who want to experience a completely different way to contemporary living.

This will help enhance our local communities in the Gambia and give them an opportunities they can benefit from.

Other projects we are working on include the promotion an education of the Gambian ancient history, and we will be holding tours to historical landmarks such as the Wassu stone circles.

This will be attractive to people who are interested in history, and we would like to connect with well established leading figures in the ancient history movement to bring international awareness.

promoting sustainable fashion and style,

We are aiming to push the Gambia to become a self-reliant Eco-nation by creating these unique opportunities.

By bringing ecotourism and permaculture to the forefront, we can focus on sustainable development by environmental conservation and promoting the local people to benefit from this. We are working towards enhancement of local communities in the Gambia by bringing projects into communities that will  increase the living standard for the Gambian people.

At the moment the main way we are connecting with people is by using social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, to connect people both nationally and internationally towards the development of the organization.

We have a number of profiles on Facebook that we are using to connect with people from around the world.  We are currently conducting meetings with stakeholders, consultants and looking for business partnership for collaboration and partnership for the development of the organization and our beautiful country.

The reason that we believe in this so much is  that the Gambia has so many potential resources yet to be explored, that’s why the ecotourism society is making use of these. We currently attract around 150,000+ visitors annually and we believe this number could increase through the services that we will be able to offer.

Working with the Eco-tourism society will mean you will be working with small communities throughout the Gambia, which is one of our most fundamental issues. We want to see that the local communities benefit out of the ecotourism projects that we will be bringing.

and with all benefits to smaller communities aside, the Gambia is one of the most peaceful, beautiful and friendly countries in the world where everyone is treated like family.
