Dumi Senda is an internationally acclaimed poet, children’s author & peace activist. He has performed in honour of President Mandela at the invitation of the BBC and has been a guest speaker at the UN in Geneva and the UK Houses of Parliament.
He has been personally mentored by Civil Rights legend Clarence Thompson, OBE. His poetry has been published in several countries including Ghana, Zimbabwe, Canada and Germany. His debut children’s book “The Day the Sun Promised to Smile FOREVER!“ has been translated to three languages to help raise funds for “Innocence In Danger”, a children’s foundation established at the initiation of the UNESCO Director General.
Dumi has shared the stage with leading African personalities at the University of Oxford Pan-African Conference, including HM King Letsie III of Lesotho, Hon. Pravin Gordhan Minister of Finance South Africa and Dr. Guy Scott former Acting President of Zambia. He has also appeared on stage and performed with the world famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and has been a winner of the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards and nominee of the BEFFTA Awards.
He has been an Ambassador of the Zimbabwe Educational Trust and has gained international recognition for peace activism and work to inspire young people. Dumi is currently reading International relations & Peace at Leeds Beckett University.
