ROLE MODEL OF THE WEEK – CLEMENT CHUNGA FROM MALAWI- LECTURER & COMMUNITY AMBASSADOR

I have four degrees;,MA(Masters of education), Bsc Hons (Quantity surveying) HND (building),DTTLS(teacher trainer), Group Diploma ( management). I am an associate Chartered Surveyor (RICS) no. 1100366, a fellow of Lifelong learning (ALFL).

I have worked for the local government for 20 years now first as a surveyor and a team leader at borough councils of Corby, Southnorthants, Rugby, Northampton, Bedford and Milton Keynes. I have taught mathematics of all levels at Northampton college

I am currently a lecturer at Moulton College and University of Northampton full time. I also volunteer in the community as founder and Chair of Malawi Association in Northampton at one time UK as a whole.

I am a founder and chairman of Malawi Association Northampton (MAN) from 2006 up to now. I was chairman of the Malawi Association UK (MAUK 2010 to 2014). On 15th May I stood as a councillor for Labour and won my seat with over 500 votes clear.

My highlight of my community leadership was when I visited Buckingham palace when I spoke and shook hands with the Queen, Juke and the entire Royal household under the queens invitation.

I have management qualifications in Industrial relation; personnel management and business improvement. My experience in the area of planning policies and procedures is through my work at University of Northampton and team leader at the borough council.
