ROLE MODEL OF THE WEEK – ONYINYE ETONIRU – AUTHOR, BUSINESS ENTREPRENEUR & YOUTH AMBASSADOR

My name is Onyinye Etoniru; I am a young biz adventurous entrepreneur, author and a passionate Nigerian. I am in my early twenties. I hail from Anambra State and I am the last born in a family of three. I have a senior brother, Chidi and a twin sister, Ogechi. I had my primary education in Port – Harcourt and moved on to Benin City for my secondary education in Igbinedion Education Centre.

I hold a degree in Estate Management with a first class honors from the University of Lagos and a Master degree in International Management from Henley Business School in United Kingdom. I consult for small, medium- sized businesses and big corporations on organizational design. I advice on brand and strategy at Joe Etoniru & Associates, a leading real estate firm and currently work as an Associate at Afreal Limited, a real-estate finance and investment advisory company. Having worked in various real-estate firms, A.Ademakinwa & Co, Sim Anokwuru & Co and Joe Etoniru & Associates over the years, I have gained experience in the real estate sector and management as a young professional.

I am passionate about helping people discover and live true to God, themselves and their dreams. These, I am able to achieve through personal projects I undertake like the true living conference(TLC), the TLCmentor-me Challenge, speaking, hosting #Trueinspire show and writing.

I had the first edition of TLC in February, while I was a corper, serving in Nasarawa state and subsequent editions have been in United Kingdom and Lagos in Nigeria.

My first published book is The Journey of a Higher Life, The book talks on the key issues relating to life and godliness comparing natural vulnerability with spiritual fervor. I shared 70 great lessons, with various perspectives about different situations in a typical Christian life, and I gave revelational truth on how to handle those issues. I am also currently working on other books which would be out soon.

I have always had a flair for business and adding value to people’s life and at age 18 I started a lifestyle brand Virginites, which is aimed at creating useful practical everyday lifestyle items inspired by symphony and art prints, providing product categories (clothing, home and accessories) that are exquisite, eco- friendly, exciting and exclusive. We have a vision to be Africa’s renowned lifestyle brand inspired by symphony and art.

I am passionately interested in the spiritual and personal development of women, this has inspired me to mentor young girls and ladies as a true living coach and start True Jewels Hang out for young women.

I am a LEAP Africa alumni, Red award alumni, a women mentoring women alumni and a Lagos Business School Young Talent Programme Alumni. This has contributed in developing my capacity and awakening my civic responsibility as a change agent. I am a strong supporter of volunteering as I’ve volunteered in Ghana at Love and peace orphanage for a Christmas event. I’ve also volunteered for Guardian of the Nation International, a non -profit youth leadership capital development organization and other organizations in and outside Nigeria.

I have interests in International business management, contributing to the educational sector in Africa and mentoring young women. I am also an exceptional organizer and an aspiring surface pattern designer. I love adventure, creating new stuffs, writing, listening to classical and gospel music, volunteering and travelling. I spend my leisure time reading, playing table tennis and writing.
