The Wihte Lion is a unique community arts and music hub located in the heart of South London serving great food with wonderful vibes

In September 2009 we found this large Victorian building on the well-connected Streatham High Road. It was run-down, unsellable, and deserted. Our team had absolutely no budget but, with volunteers, donated materials and community spirit, we transformed the complex into a community hub.

Featuring a fantastic bar, an enclosed beer garden and a renovated workshop space, the venue now has live music most evenings as well as a growing community presence. Recent awards for The White Lion include:

• “Best Live Music Venue for Heartfelt Happenings” (Lambeth Weekender, October 2011)
• “Favourite Shop on the High Street” (ShopInStreatham.com “People’s Choice” competition, December 2011)
• Finalist for “Lambeth’s Favourite Business” (2012 Lambeth Business Awards, April 2012)
