PAMTENGO RADIO WINS BEST MEDIA CATEGORY AT THE MALAWI ACHIEVEMENTS AWARDS

UK based online radio Pamtengo won Best Media Award at the Second Edition of the Malawi Achievers’ Award organised by the Malawi Association UK (MAUK) which was held on Saturday, March 28, at the magnificent Athena Conference Hall in Leicester, United Kingdom.

Malawi Achievers’ Award is aimed at celebrating and recognising outstanding Malawian individuals and groups in the UK for their exceptional achievements and contributions to their respective community both in the diaspora and Malawi.

The prestigious event was hosted by the Malawi Association UK (MAUK) the mother body of all UK based Malawi Associations, a registered Charity itself that promotes the welfare and sense of belonging for all Malawians living in the UK.

Commenting upon the recognition, Chief Executive Officer of Pamtengo Radio, MC Steve Chijota said the award was a milestone and therefore a symbol of his organisation’s hard work and commitment to radio excellence, he said as he accepted the award

‘’We honour this recognition and acknowledge receipt of this most prestigious award in a very special way. A massive thanks to all our listeners for voting and believing in our dreams. And once again a big mention to the organisers of the Malawi Achievers for such a precious medal, said Chijota who fronts the exceptionally diverse and talented radio Djs and Presenters hailing from Malawi, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, Kenya, Uganda, Poland, Australia and Lithuania

Malawian Achievers’ Award also aims to recognise charitable organisations or groups and reward people that are making positive differences to the Malawian Community in the diaspora.

In its bid to realise its objectives, the Malawi Achievers had part of the proceeds from its ever edition of the Malawi Achievers’ Award, organised last year, donated to Malawi Health Care UK (Mahecas) Charity for a Cancer Project amounting to £1,000 according to Malawi Achievers’ Award PR Director, Thom Twee in a recent TV Chat Show with Pauline Long monitored on BEN TV.

Pamtengo Radio won its bid under the brackets of ‘a corporate or individuals with an outstanding record of achievement coupled with excellence in media whose extraordinary performance clearly shapes the Malawi Community positively’.

The Media Award for Pamtengo Radio is yet another successful achievement under its belt after winning the 2014 BEFFTA’S Best Radio of the year, yet another distinctly special award ceremony honouring the best showbiz and entertainment personalities in the black and ethnic community in the UK, USA, Canada, Caribbean, Africa and globally.
